Zee TV’s popular music reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ is set to return with a new season on September 19, promising a larger production scale, live musical performances and a renewed focus on India’s diverse musical traditions.

The upcoming season, themed “Hindustan Ka Sangeetsthan”, will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 pm on Zee TV and stream on Hindi ZEE5. The season was unveiled at a media event in Mumbai on Thursday.

According to the makers, the new edition will feature a 360-degree stage, described as a first for an Indian music reality show. The stage will be complemented by a live orchestra comprising more than 100 musicians, along with an expanded chorus ensemble, creating a concert-like setting for performances.

The season will feature playback singers Shankar Mahadevan, Kumar Sanu, Neeti Mohan and Javed Ali as musical Gurus. Actor Shreyas Talpade will host the show.

The new season aims to celebrate musical traditions from different regions of India, with contestants expected to showcase the country’s varied sounds and styles through their performances. The makers said the format will continue to place emphasis on musicianship and authentic talent while presenting the competition on a larger scale.

Ragahvendra Hunsur, Chief Content Officer at ZEEL, said the franchise, which has been running for nearly three decades, has remained committed to authentic music and talent.

He said the new season seeks to create a complete world dedicated to music, featuring a new generation of contestants guided by experienced musical Gurus. Hunsur also highlighted the role of the large orchestra in enhancing the contestants’ performances.

With its expanded stage, live orchestra and focus on India’s musical heritage, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ is set to return with a fresh presentation while retaining its core focus on singers and musicianship.
