Kerala Devaswom and Health Minister K Muraleedharan on Sunday responded to criticism over the Sabarimala gold loss case , saying those questioning the state government should also address the controversy surrounding the Ayodhya Ram Temple fund allegations .

Speaking after inaugurating the Pulse Polio campaign , Muraleedharan said some people repeatedly raise the Sabarimala issue while highlighting devotees’ sentiments. He said similar sentiments exist among devotees of the Ayodhya temple and questioned why critics were silent on alleged irregularities there.

The minister said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged disappearance of gold from Sabarimala temple artefacts would submit its report to the Kerala High Court , and further action would be taken based on its findings.

His remarks came after BJP Kerala president Rajeev Chandrasekhar demanded a CBI probe into the Sabarimala case and warned of protests if the investigation was not transferred.

Muraleedharan also defended the state’s proposal to reduce tax on low-alcohol beverages , clarifying that the move does not apply to high-alcohol liquor. He added that communicable diseases, including dengue and Shigella infections , were under control but warned that heavy rains and poor waste management could pose fresh health risks.
