Sadhguru Announces Animated Film ‘Shiva: The Adiyogi’ With Graphic India
Graphic India, the studio behind The Legend of Hanuman, has teamed up with Sadhguru for an animated feature titled Shiva: The Adiyogi. The film will tell the story of Shiva as Adiyogi, the first Yogi.
The story is written by Sadhguru and Sharad Devarajan, co-founder and CEO of Graphic India. It will explore how Shiva shared his knowledge with humanity and why that wisdom was passed on.
According to the latest details, the film will also cover the making of Mount Kailash and Shiva’s sharing of 112 methods to go beyond physical limits with seven seekers. These seven are linked to the Saptarishis in Sadhguru’s account of Adiyogi.
The story will move from the darkness before creation to Mount Kailash. It will bring together love, loss, anger and awakening, while also showing the fierce Veerabhadra, who is born from grief.
Two women will play an important role in the story as they try to stop Shiva from withdrawing from existence. The film will also feature large-scale battles, a conqueror attacking heaven and the opening of Shiva’s third eye.
Sadhguru said that in Yogic culture, Shiva is seen as Adiyogi and Adi Guru, rather than simply as a god. He said Shiva showed that human beings can go beyond what they see as their natural limits.
For Devarajan, the film is a chance to tell the story of how wisdom came to humanity. His earlier work includes the animated series Baahubali: Crown of Blood, while he also created Pavitra Prabhakar, the Indian Spider-Man.
The makers are planning the film as a global animated feature rooted in Indian mythology.
As of August 10, 2026, the makers have not announced the film’s release date, voice cast or animation team.
