Sai Dharam Tej is set to return with his most ambitious film yet, Sambarala Yeti Gattu. The period action drama has now locked January 12, 2027 as its theatrical release date, putting it in the Sankranthi race. The makers also unveiled a new poster featuring the actor.

Directed by debutant Rohith KP, the film is produced by K Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy under Primeshow Entertainment. Reports put the film’s budget at around Rs. 120 crore, making it one of the biggest projects in Sai Dharam Tej’s career. The film is planned as a pan India release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.

The film has taken more time than planned. It was earlier expected to arrive in 2026, but the makers continued with the shoot and post production to meet the scale they had in mind. Sai Dharam Tej had also said that audience expectations have changed and that the team wanted more time to deliver a film that lives up to them. The shoot has now entered its final stage.

Sai Dharam Tej has undergone a major physical transformation for the role. Earlier glimpses showed him in a rugged and intense avatar, with the story set in a harsh world filled with rebellion and conflict. The film’s visuals point to a large-scale action drama rather than a regular commercial entertainer.

Aishwarya Lekshmi plays the female lead, while Jagapathi Babu, Sai Kumar, Meka Srikanth, Ananya Nagalla and Ravi Krishna are part of the cast. Srikanth will appear in a new look as a character called ‘Britishu’.

Vetri handles cinematography, while B Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music. Interestingly, January 12 also carries a special connection for producer Niranjan Reddy, as his Hanu-Man released on the same Sankranthi date and became a major success.
