Samantha applauds Priyanka Chopra’s honesty on daughter’s premature birth

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has praised Priyanka Chopra Jonas for candidly speaking about the premature birth of her daughter, Malti Marie , and the emotional turmoil that surrounded the announcement in 2022.

Ruth Prabhu reshared a clip from Chopra Jonas’ recent interview on her Instagram Stories, lauding the actor for her honesty. “So beautiful. Thank you, @priyankachopra. Your honesty is powerful. Loved this interview,” she wrote.

In the interview, Chopra Jonas revealed that her daughter was born at 27 weeks and that the experience left her overwhelmed. “We were told that she’s coming at 27 weeks. I just shut down. We got a text saying her birth is gonna be put out. We were kind of forced into announcing her birth. We weren’t ready because we didn’t know what would happen with her,” she said.

Chopra Jonas and her husband, singer Nick Jonas, welcomed Malti Marie via surrogacy in January 2022. The couple had earlier shared that their daughter spent over 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit before coming home.
