In a coordinated operation based on specific intelligence inputs, police in Hyderabad have detained seven Bangladeshi nationals for allegedly residing in India without valid documentation.

Acting on a tip-off, officials from the Jeedimetla Police Station conducted checks in the Gajularamaram–Jeedimetla area , where the group was found staying in a rented accommodation in HAL Colony under suspicious circumstances.

Police said the team, led by the Station House Officer, carried out a verification exercise at the premises and found that the occupants, including four women , were unable to produce any valid travel or identity documents such as passports, visas, or recognised Indian identification papers.

Preliminary inquiry indicated that the individuals had entered India illegally across the border and had been residing in different parts of the country before settling in Hyderabad. One of them is believed to have been living in India for nearly four to five years , having previously stayed in Maharashtra before moving to Telangana. The remaining members reportedly arrived in the city around two months ago .

Police also noted that none of them possessed Aadhaar cards or any other authorised identity proof. During questioning, they stated that they had been working in small informal jobs, including assistance at beauty parlours, to sustain themselves.

Authorities have initiated procedures to shift the detained individuals to a detention-cum-deportation centre in Jogipet, Medak district . Officials added that necessary legal protocols are being followed and movement restrictions have been imposed on the group.

Once formal verification and inter-agency clearances are completed, deportation proceedings will be initiated in accordance with established legal frameworks, police said, adding that the individuals will eventually be repatriated to Bangladesh.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain how they entered the country and whether any facilitation networks were involved in their movement and accommodation.
