Lightning strikes remain a major cause of weather-related deaths in Jharkhand, particularly during the monsoon when thunderstorms become more frequent. Farmers and rural residents are especially vulnerable as they often work outdoors despite rapidly changing weather conditions.
The latest fatalities have renewed concerns over disaster preparedness and public awareness in rural areas. Experts have stressed the need for stronger early-warning systems, timely weather alerts and community awareness campaigns to reduce casualties.
State disaster management authorities advise people to seek shelter indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open fields, trees and water bodies. However, ensuring that weather warnings reach remote communities and prompt preventive action continues to be a challenge.
With the monsoon advancing across the state, officials are expected to intensify awareness efforts to prevent further loss of life.
