Shaurya Bhattacharya, Karandeep Kochhar Shine As Top Indian Golfers At Yeangder TPC

Shaurya Bhattacharya and Karandeep Kochhar emerged as the leading Indian performers at the Yeangder TPC on the Asian Tour, moving inside the Top 25 with one round remaining after impressive third-round performances.

Bhattacharya produced his second consecutive 66 to climb to 11-under 205 and sit tied 20th. The Indian mixed an eagle and six birdies with two bogeys in a sparkling round that kept him firmly in contention for a high finish.

Kochhar, who also competes on the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL), made an even bigger move with a bogey-free 65, his best round of the tournament. Starting the day with rounds of 70 and 71, he surged up the leaderboard with seven birdies, including four in succession on the front nine, to reach 10-under and tied 25th.

The pair will now head into the final round as the highest-placed Indian golfers in the field, although Bhattacharya remains eight shots behind the leader.

Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert retained the lead for the third straight day as he seeks his first Asian Tour title in nearly seven years. Pavit carded a five-under 67 to move to 19-under and holds a one-shot advantage over defending champion Kazuki Higa of Japan.

Higa also shot a 67 to stay within striking distance, setting up a potentially tight finish at the top.

For the Indian contingent, Bhattacharya and Kochhar’s contrasting third-round bursts have provided the biggest talking point heading into the final day. Bhattacharya’s consistency and Kochhar’s bogey-free attacking golf have put both inside the Top 25, giving them an opportunity to finish strongly in the final round.
