‘Spirit’ Postponed! Prabhas’ Film With Sandeep Reddy Vanga Gets New Release Date

Prabhas fans eagerly waiting for 'Spirit' will have to wait several more months to watch the superstar on the big screen. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has announced a new release date for the highly anticipated action drama, which will now arrive in theatres worldwide on October 29, 2027, during the Diwali festive season.

The film was previously scheduled to release on March 5, 2027. Vanga revealed the revised date on social media alongside a new poster featuring Prabhas, building fresh excitement around the project. However, the postponement also sets up a potential box office battle with 'Ramayana Part 2', directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sunny Deol, which is also scheduled for Diwali 2027.

'Spirit' marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Vanga, who returns to Telugu cinema after directing 'Arjun Reddy' in 2017. The filmmaker is known for his intense storytelling and hard-hitting action sequences, raising expectations for his upcoming collaboration with the pan-India star.

Prabhas will reportedly portray a police officer in the film, with earlier promotional material hinting at a darker character. Triptii Dimri plays the female lead, while Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj and Kanchana are also associated with the project.

The film is being produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, with Harshavardhan Rameshwar handling the music and background score. The makers are planning a multilingual release to reach audiences across several markets.

Meanwhile, Prabhas has another major project lined up for 2027. His period action drama 'Fauzi', directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, was earlier expected to release in December 2026. Recent reports suggest the film is targeting March 18, 2027, although an official confirmation of the revised date is awaited.

With 'Spirit' now moving to October and 'Fauzi' reportedly eyeing a March release, Prabhas fans could have two major theatrical outings next year. The bigger question is whether 'Spirit' can turn the Diwali box office into a showdown between two of India's most ambitious cinematic projects.
