S.S. Rajamouli's Europe Tour Celebrates Indian Cinema with Exclusive Premieres

Renowned filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli has launched an ambitious Europe tour from June 26 to July 4, 2026 , showcasing Indian cinema through a series of film screenings, masterclasses, media interactions and fan engagement events across France and Switzerland . The retrospective, hosted by some of Europe's most prestigious film institutions, celebrates Rajamouli's remarkable contribution to world cinema while reflecting the growing international recognition of Telugu cinema .

The tour opened on June 26 at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris with a screening of RRR , the global blockbuster that propelled Indian cinema to unprecedented international acclaim after its Oscar-winning song "Naatu Naatu."

The Paris schedule continues on June 27 with screenings of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion , separated by a masterclass featuring Rajamouli and acclaimed French filmmaker Christophe Gans . On June 28 , audiences will watch Maryada Ramanna , followed by an interview, a Meet & Greet session and an evening screening of Eega . Another screening of Eega is scheduled at UGC Les Halles on June 29 , while the Paris leg concludes on June 30 at the iconic Grand Rex with a press interaction, masterclass and a special screening of RRR .

Rajamouli will then travel to Lyon on July 1 , where the renowned Institut Lumière is hosting a dedicated retrospective of his films, including Baahubali , Maryada Ramanna , Eega and RRR . The programme includes a fan signing session and another screening of RRR , highlighting the filmmaker's growing popularity among European audiences.

The final leg of the tour takes Rajamouli to Neuchâtel, Switzerland , where RRR will be screened on July 3 during the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFF) , followed by a masterclass on July 4 .

A major attraction of the tour is the promise of exclusive glimpses from Rajamouli's upcoming projects Varanasi and Baahubali: The Eternal War – Part I to be showcased before every screening. Varanasi , starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran , is expected to release in 2027 as a global action-adventure rooted in Indian mythology. Meanwhile, Baahubali: The Eternal War – Part I , unveiled at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026 , is being developed with a Japanese animation studio , with Prabhas returning as Baahubali .
