Stalin Hits Back at Vijay Over DMK ‘Evil Force’ Charge, TVK’s Political Record

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK president C Joseph Vijay stepped up his attack on the DMK during campaigning for the October 6 Madurantakam Assembly bypoll, accusing the party of being an “evil force” and alleging that the previous DMK government failed to properly pursue a high-profile POCSO case involving Gem Granites chairman R Veeramani.

Vijay also alleged a political understanding among the DMK, AIADMK and BJP, while portraying the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam as a “pure force”. He questioned the previous government's handling of the Veeramani case and sought an explanation from DMK president M K Stalin.

Stalin responded in a detailed social media post, taking aim at Vijay's “pure force” description of TVK. He questioned the claim in view of the party's induction of former AIADMK leaders, including Maragatham Kumaravel, who is contesting the Madurantakam bypoll as the TVK candidate.

The DMK president also challenged Vijay over his criticism of the BJP, asking how frequently TVK had opposed the party or organised protests against it since coming to power. Stalin further alleged that TVK had attempted to attract legislators from the NDA and questioned whether such political manoeuvres were consistent with its claim of being a “pure force”.

Turning to governance, Stalin accused the TVK government of repackaging existing welfare initiatives and raised issues including power disruptions, rising prices, milk availability and law and order.

On the Veeramani case, Stalin said he had already provided his explanation on the matter in the Assembly. He questioned Vijay's decision to raise the sensitive investigation during an election campaign, referring to Madras High Court observations against politicising the probe.

Stalin also urged Vijay to exercise restraint and uphold the political standards expected from the state's highest elected office.
