Stay Calm, Ignore Rumours: NTA Tells NEET-UG Candidates Ahead Of June 21 Re-Exam
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has urged NEET-UG candidates to remain calm and ignore unverified information as the re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026 approaches, reaffirming that the exam will be conducted as planned across India and abroad under strict supervision.
The agency has repeatedly warned students against social media rumours and fake claims about postponement, stressing that all updates will be issued only through official channels. It said robust arrangements have been made in coordination with ministries, state administrations, and security agencies to ensure a secure and transparent examination process.
As part of enhanced measures, the NTA has deployed multi-layered security protocols and clarified that strict action will be taken against any malpractice or attempt to disrupt exam integrity. The agency also confirmed that the exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5:15 pm , with over 22 lakh candidates expected to appear across multiple centres.
Recent updates show that candidates can now download their fresh admit cards , while the earlier hall tickets issued for the May 3 exam have been declared invalid. The agency has also acknowledged technical glitches on the portal , attributing them to heavy traffic and assuring quick resolution.
In addition, the NTA has introduced transparency measures such as updated exam pattern details and allowing candidates to carry question booklets after the test. It has also eased admit card access procedures and activated grievance channels to report fake news or paper leak claims , while the CBI continues investigating alleged irregularities linked to the cancelled May 3 exam.
Amid rising stress levels, the NTA has activated the MANAS mental-health helpline (14416) and appealed to parents and teachers to maintain a calm environment, urging candidates to focus on preparation and mental well-being ahead of the crucial exam.
