Suriya Picked The Climax! Venky Atluri Reveals Nine Drafts For Every Scene, Shares Dhanush Film Update
The excitement around Vishwanath And Sons continues to grow as director Venky Atluri shared intriguing behind the scenes details about the upcoming emotional drama. In a recent interview, Venky revealed that Suriya has already watched the completed film and was "extremely happy" with the final output, boosting anticipation ahead of its August 14, 2026 release.
The filmmaker disclosed that every scene in the film went through an exhaustive writing process, with nearly nine drafts prepared for each sequence. According to Venky, he wanted every moment to feel emotionally satisfying while staying morally grounded.
One of his biggest revelations was about the climax. Venky said he wrote three different endings and narrated all of them to Suriya before filming. The actor chose the version that ultimately became the film's official climax.
Venky also credited Jyotika for offering valuable feedback after hearing the script, especially in the first half. He added that he will reveal her suggestions only after the film releases. Addressing the much discussed 20 year age gap between Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, the director said Suriya himself felt it would strengthen the story's emotional impact.
Produced by Sithara Entertainments, the film stars Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, and others, with music by GV Prakash Kumar.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is gearing up for OM, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and co-starring Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, and Naseeruddin Shah. The film releases on October 16, 2026.
Venky also confirmed that he has pitched a new story to Dhanush. He will begin writing it after Vishwanath And Sons releases. Set against a police backdrop, the project is currently in the research stage, with Venky saying he wants every detail to be authentic, especially because Dhanush is an accomplished writer and director.
