Suriya's Biggest Collaboration Yet! Hombale Films Announces 48th Film

Hombale Films has officially announced its much-anticipated collaboration with actor Suriya for his 48th film, marking the first-ever partnership between the Tamil star and the production house behind blockbuster franchises such as KGF and Kantara . The project reunites Suriya with acclaimed filmmaker T.J. Gnanavel , who previously directed him in the critically acclaimed Jai Bhim .

The film was formally launched with an auspicious pooja ceremony, with Hombale Films sharing photographs from the event on social media. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and co-produced by Chaluve Gowda , the makers described the venture as Suriya's “grandest stage yet” , celebrating the actor's remarkable three-decade journey in Indian cinema.

The project, currently referred to as #SuriyaXHombale and Suriya 48 , features rising music composer Sai Abhyankkar , while actress Kayadu Lohar has been confirmed as the female lead. The makers have also unveiled a strong technical team comprising cinematographer S.R. Kathir , editor Philomin Raj , production designer K. Kadhir , and screenwriter B. Krithika .

While the official title and storyline remain under wraps, industry reports suggest the film could be inspired by real-life events. Some reports have linked the project to the life of Dr. Thiruvengadam Veeraraghavan, popularly known as the “₹5 Doctor.” However, the filmmakers have not confirmed these reports , and no official details about the plot have been released.

The announcement comes at a busy phase in Suriya's career. Reports indicate that filming for his project with director Jithu Madhavan , tentatively known as Suriya 47 , has been completed or is nearing completion, paving the way for work on the new venture.

With Hombale Films' reputation for large-scale cinematic spectacles and Gnanavel's grounded storytelling approach, expectations are already high for what promises to be one of the most anticipated Tamil films in development.
