India have named a three-member squad for the 2026 Junior Davis Cup Finals, with Under-16 No. 1 Ribhav Saroha set to lead the country at the prestigious world junior team event in Cairo, Egypt.

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) announced on Monday that Saroha will be joined by Tavish Pahwa and Hruthik Katakam for the tournament, scheduled from November 2 to 8 at the Smash Sporting Club.

The competition brings together the world's leading Under-16 national teams. India will face strong opposition from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czechia, Egypt, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Serbia, the USA and Venezuela.

The 16 participating teams will initially be divided into four round-robin groups of four, with the leading teams progressing to the knockout stages. The tournament will therefore provide India's young players with multiple opportunities to test themselves against international opposition.

Ribhav Saroha, who has been among India's leading Under-16 players, will be a key figure for the team. Tavish Pahwa and Hruthik Katakam also feature prominently in India's junior rankings. Recent AITA ranking data has placed all three among the country's top Under-16 players.

Rana Banerjee, associated with KSLTA, will travel with the team as coach. He was involved in guiding the Indian side to the Finals.

The Cairo tournament will be historic as the Junior Davis Cup Finals are being held in Africa for the first time. The event is being played on clay courts, with the Smash Sporting Club, a 20-acre venue west of Cairo, serving as host. The venue has also staged the World Tennis Tour Juniors J500 Cairo tournament since 2023.

The USA entered the tournament as two-time defending champions, adding further significance to India's challenge against the world's strongest junior tennis nations.

For Saroha, Pahwa and Katakam, the Finals represent an important opportunity to gain experience on the international stage while competing for India in one of junior tennis's premier team competitions.
