TDP Announces Three Rajya Sabha Candidates From Andhra Pradesh

The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh has finalised its nominees for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, naming Chintakayala Vijay , Bhashyam Ramakrishna , and sitting Rajya Sabha member Sana Satish as its candidates.

The three leaders were formally handed their nomination papers by TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the presence of senior party leaders on Saturday night.

Expressing gratitude to the party leadership, Chintakayala Vijay said the nomination reflected the TDP's tradition of recognising and rewarding those who stood by the party during challenging times. He thanked Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh for placing their trust in him and pledged to discharge his responsibilities in the Upper House with commitment and sincerity.

Vijay currently serves as the TDP's state general secretary and has previously held the position of Andhra Pradesh Telugu Yuvatha president. He has pursued studies in political management and governance at reputed institutions in India and the United States.

Another nominee, Bhashyam Ramakrishna, is the chairman of a leading private educational group that operates institutions across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. Known for his contributions to the education sector, he has received several recognitions and has been actively involved in philanthropic initiatives through his charitable trust. These include scholarship programmes, healthcare camps, blood donation drives, community welfare activities and disaster relief efforts in different parts of the country.

Under the seat-sharing arrangement within the ruling NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh, the TDP is contesting three of the four Rajya Sabha seats falling vacant from the state, while its ally, the Jana Sena Party, will field a candidate for the remaining seat.

The Rajya Sabha elections are scheduled to be held on June 18, and the outcome is expected to further strengthen the NDA's representation from Andhra Pradesh in the Upper House of Parliament.
