Kimi Antonelli delivered a commanding performance on the streets of Monte Carlo on Sunday, claiming his fifth straight victory of the 2026 F1 season and cementing his place in the history books with a remarkable Grand Slam pole position, win, fastest lap, and leading every lap of the 78-lap race across the 3.337 km Circuit de Monaco.

The 19-year-old Mercedes driver became the youngest in Formula 1 history to achieve a Grand Slam , doing so in Monaco of all places a circuit that punishes even the smallest mistake. He also broke a record held by Lewis Hamilton for 18 years, becoming the youngest winner in Monaco Grand Prix history at just 19 years, 9 months and 13 days old.

Drama began at the very first moment. Max Verstappen , starting from second on the grid, suffered a power unit failure off the line and was out of the race before completing a single lap a devastating blow for the four-time world champion still hunting a championship fightback.

With his biggest rival gone, Antonelli pulled away with clinical precision. The race was far from smooth, however. With around 14 laps remaining, Lance Stroll crashed at the final corner, bringing out the safety car. Moments after the restart, home hero Charles Leclerc hit the very same barrier, triggering a red flag on lap 68 as the track surface broke apart beneath the cars. The suspension stretched to nearly 40 minutes before a standing restart could be held adding significantly to an already extended afternoon in the Principality.

George Russell's afternoon was equally painful. The Mercedes man picked up a pit lane speeding penalty, then failed to serve it correctly, earning a further sanction. Despite briefly running third after the red flag restart, he was forced to pit and drop back, eventually finishing 14th.

Out of the chaos, Isack Hadjar quietly delivered. With Leclerc out and penalties reshuffling the order, the young Red Bull driver inherited his first F1 podium of 2026 . Lewis Hamilton crossed in second for Ferrari, finishing just 6.2 seconds behind Antonelli, with Hadjar a further 23.3 seconds back.

Reigning champion Lando Norris added to his woes with another retirement, his second in a row while Bottas and Bearman also failed to finish, contributing to a total of seven DNFs on the day.

Final Podium:

Antonelli — Hamilton (+6.2s) — Hadjar (+23.3s)
