Telangana Accelerates Paperless Governance with Digital Assembly, AI-Based Administration Plans

Telangana is taking significant steps towards digital governance by focusing on the digitisation of legislative procedures and expanding technology-based public administration, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said.

Speaking at the ‘AI Transformation Conclave’ held in Hyderabad on Friday, the minister said the state government is working towards a paperless e-governance system, with digital transformation of processes in the Telangana Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council being a major priority.

Sridhar Babu said the government’s ‘Digital Office Project’ will play a key role in reducing paperwork and improving administrative efficiency. He emphasised that technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, data analytics and digital platforms will shape the future of governance by enabling faster and more transparent decision-making.

The minister highlighted the importance of the Real-Time Government Dashboard, which will bring together more than 20 government departments on a single platform. The system is expected to help officials monitor programmes effectively, improve coordination and support data-driven governance.

He also outlined the state’s plans under the T-Fiber project, which aims to provide digital connectivity to more than 80 lakh rural households across Telangana. The initiative is expected to improve access to online services and strengthen digital inclusion in villages.

Sridhar Babu said the government is also preparing to launch doorstep delivery of essential government services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. In addition, blockchain-based verification services for certificates will be introduced to enhance security and simplify authentication processes.

The move towards paperless administration has already started within the state Cabinet. In June, the government decided to conduct paperless Cabinet meetings, and on June 18, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other ministers were provided dedicated tablets during a special meeting at the Secretariat.

Cabinet agendas are now being shared through e-books, marking a shift towards a fully digital workflow. The government expects these initiatives to improve efficiency, transparency and accessibility in Telangana’s administrative system.
