Telangana BJP Chief Writes To CM Revanth Reddy, Seeks Rahul Gandhi Meeting
Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has written an open letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging him to facilitate an appointment with senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to submit a memorandum on the alleged non-implementation of key election promises in the state.
In his letter, Ramchander Rao alleged that the Congress party had made several high-profile assurances during the 2023 Assembly elections, with top leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra personally campaigning in Telangana and announcing what he described as “guarantees” to voters.
He claimed that even after more than two and a half years in power , the Congress government has failed to implement several flagship promises. These include ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance for women , ₹15,000 per acre farm investment support , ₹4,000 unemployment allowance , ₹4,000 pension for senior citizens , and other promised education support measures for students .
According to him, the failure to deliver on these commitments has led to growing public dissatisfaction and disappointment across Telangana. He argued that these concerns must be directly conveyed to Rahul Gandhi through a formal meeting and urged the Chief Minister to arrange an appointment without delay .
Significantly, the BJP leader also said he would have no objection if Chief Minister Revanth Reddy accompanied him to the proposed meeting and participated in the discussion, suggesting that the issue should be addressed in a transparent political dialogue .
Ramchander Rao further warned that if the Chief Minister fails to facilitate such a meeting, it would amount to evidence of what he called the Congress party’s “betrayal of the people of Telangana.” The letter has triggered political discussion in Hyderabad , adding fresh heat to the ongoing debate over the implementation of electoral promises in the state.
