The Telangana Congress is preparing to organise a massive public meeting and rally after the Dasara festival, aiming to mobilise around two lakh people to highlight key political issues, including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud announced the proposed programme, indicating that the party is gearing up for a major show of strength in the state.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mahesh Goud said Rahul Gandhi and K.C. Venugopal had instructed the state Congress leadership to organise the event. He explained that the party's national leadership had decided to hold public meetings in two southern states as part of its broader political outreach.

The proposed gathering is expected to serve as a platform for the Congress to draw attention to issues surrounding electoral roll revision and strengthen its political mobilisation in Telangana. The plan to bring together such a large gathering also reflects the party's efforts to consolidate its organisational strength and reach a wider section of the electorate. Further details regarding the venue and schedule are yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Goud strongly rejected allegations that Rahul Gandhi had behaved rudely towards women journalists. Responding to the controversy, he defended the Congress leader and offered a different account of the incident, stating that Rahul Gandhi had helped party president Mallikarjun Kharge with his footwear.

The TPCC chief also highlighted the Congress party's preparations for the upcoming graduates' constituency elections to the Legislative Council. He said the party was making concerted efforts to win both the Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahabubnagar and Warangal–Nalgonda–Khammam graduates' MLC seats.

The elections are significant for the party as it seeks to strengthen its presence among graduates and consolidate its support base across the state. Mahesh Goud said the Congress was working towards securing victories in both constituencies.

With preparations for the post-Dasara public meeting and the graduates' MLC elections underway, the state Congress leadership is focusing on mass mobilisation and electoral performance as part of its broader political strategy.
