Telangana Global Summit 2026 to Feature Major Defence Expo in Hyderabad
A large-scale Defence Expo will be organised in Hyderabad as part of the Telangana Global Summit–2026, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju said. The expo will be held from December 7 to 9, with a special air show planned for December 9 as part of the event.
Jaju made the announcement during a review meeting held at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Thursday to assess preparations for the expo. The meeting focused on arrangements, participation from industry bodies and companies, publicity initiatives, security measures and coordination among various government departments.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to work in close coordination to ensure that the expo is conducted on a large scale and provides an effective platform for the defence and aerospace industries. He stressed the need for detailed planning and timely execution of all arrangements ahead of the three-day event.
Highlighting Hyderabad’s position as an important defence and aerospace hub, Jaju said around 30 per cent of industries in the defence and aerospace sectors are based in the city. He said the proposed expo would help strengthen Telangana’s position in these industries while creating opportunities to attract new investments and expand the existing industrial ecosystem.
The State government is giving special priority to the defence and aerospace sectors, with the expo expected to bring together leading companies and organisations from India and abroad. According to Jaju, prominent defence manufacturers, weapons companies, defence firms and aerospace companies will be invited to participate.
He also directed officials to involve major industry associations and enterprises, including FICCI, ASSOCHAM, SIDM and MSMEs, along with organisations from both the public and private sectors. Their participation, he said, would help broaden industry engagement and create greater opportunities for collaboration and investment.
The government will step up promotional activities ahead of the expo. Roadshows will be conducted in Hyderabad on October 24 and New Delhi on October 29 to attract participation and generate wider interest in the event. Officials were asked to use brochures, social media and other communication platforms for publicity.
Jaju further instructed departments to maintain close coordination on security arrangements, infrastructure and participating organisations. Home Department Principal Secretary Shikha Goyal, Panchayat Raj and SERP Commissioner Divya, and Invest Telangana CEO Ajit Reddy were among the officials who attended the review meeting.
