Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of government employees, the Telangana government has released Rs 2,000 crore towards clearing long-pending employee dues, marking the first phase of a larger financial settlement promised by the state leadership.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka had earlier assured leaders of the employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) that pending dues worth Rs 6,000 crore would be cleared within 100 days. Moving ahead with that commitment, the Finance Department on Friday issued official orders releasing the first tranche of funds.

The orders were issued by Finance Department Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania following directions from Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka .

According to officials, the latest release has enabled the government to fully clear several major pending payments related to retired employees. This includes the complete settlement of pending General Provident Fund (GPF) dues as well as all pending commutation payments up to May 2025.

Officials stated that the decision was made possible through advance financial planning and coordinated administrative action. The government has also initiated steps to release the remaining Rs 4,000 crore within the stipulated timeframe.

Employee union representatives and retired staff members have welcomed the move, describing it as a significant relief and a sign of the government’s positive approach towards employee welfare and financial commitments.
