The Telangana Mahila Congress on Tuesday organized a large-scale protest in Hyderabad, demanding an immediate reduction in the prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders , which it said have become an increasing burden on households across the country.

The demonstration, led by Telangana Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee President Errabelli Swarna , saw a large turnout of women party workers and supporters. The protesters marched from Gandhi Bhavan , the state Congress headquarters, to Gun Park near the Assembly premises, raising slogans against the NDA government and calling for urgent measures to curb fuel prices.

As part of the protest, participants carried LPG cylinders to symbolize the impact of rising energy costs on ordinary families. The demonstrators argued that repeated increases in fuel prices have affected not only household budgets but also transportation expenses and the cost of essential goods.

Addressing the gathering, Errabelli Swarna accused the Central government of increasing fuel prices soon after the completion of Assembly elections in West Bengal and other states. She alleged that the timing of the hikes reflected a disregard for the financial difficulties faced by citizens.

Swarna said the continued rise in fuel costs has placed a significant burden on farmers, poor families, and middle-class households , many of whom are already struggling with inflation and higher living expenses. She emphasized that fuel prices have a direct impact on multiple sectors, making affordability a matter of concern for a wide section of society.

Calling for immediate relief, the Mahila Congress leader urged the Union government to roll back the price increases and take steps to protect consumers from further economic strain. She maintained that reducing fuel prices would help ease pressure on household finances and provide much-needed support to vulnerable sections of the population.

The protest highlighted the Congress party's ongoing criticism of rising fuel costs and its demand for measures aimed at reducing the financial burden on common people.
