Telangana Police Recruitment 2026: Application Deadline Extended till September 16

The deadline to apply for Telangana Police Recruitment-2026 has been extended to 5 pm on September 16, Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) Chairman VV Srinivasa Rao said. The decision gives eligible aspirants additional time to complete the application process for the 7,437 vacancies notified across the Police, Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence, and Prisons departments.

The recruitment notification covers 275 Sub-Inspector (SI) posts in the Civil and equivalent categories, 23 Assistant Sub-Inspector positions in the Fingerprint Bureau, 7,112 Police Constable and equivalent posts, and 27 Police Constable vacancies for mechanic and driver categories. Online applications opened on August 19.

The recruitment drive has already attracted a significant response from job seekers across Telangana. As of now, 3,38,336 candidates have registered, while 2,88,530 have completed the fee payment process. The board said 2,76,085 applicants have submitted their online applications, with candidates collectively applying for 3,80,762 posts.

For the first time, the recruitment process has also incorporated Aadhaar-based verification of applicants. The board said more than 95 per cent of registered candidates have completed the verification process so far, marking a major step towards strengthening the authentication process during recruitment.

The board has also announced 33.3 per cent reservation for women in Police and Fire Services posts. In another significant move, reservations applicable to SC candidates under Groups 1, 2 and 3 are being implemented for the first time in the police recruitment process.

The financial package is another major attraction for applicants. Selected SIs will receive an annual salary of ₹7.33 lakh to ₹7.99 lakh, while equivalent SI posts in other departments carry annual pay of ₹6.74 lakh to ₹7.35 lakh. ASIs will receive ₹5.85 lakh to ₹6.38 lakh, while Police Constable and equivalent posts offer ₹4.21 lakh to ₹4.59 lakh annually, including HRA.

Apart from salaries, selected personnel will receive benefits available to other government employees, including medical treatment, housing loans, children's education loans and marriage loans.

The recruitment board has urged eligible candidates not to wait until the final day to submit their applications. It warned that last-minute technical issues could prevent applicants from completing the process before the extended deadline.
