The Telangana government has postponed the reopening of schools and other educational institutions across the state to June 15 , extending the summer break by three more days for students and teachers.

Educational institutions were originally scheduled to resume classes on June 12 following the summer vacation. However, the School Education Department decided to revise the schedule as June 13 falls on the second Saturday and June 14 is a Sunday , making it more practical to begin the new academic session on a Monday.

According to official orders issued by Director of School Education Naveen Nicolas , all schools in the state will now reopen on June 15 . The department has instructed district education officials and other concerned authorities to ensure implementation of the revised schedule.

To make up for the academic time lost due to the additional holiday on June 12, the government has designated July 11 , which is the second Saturday of that month, as a regular working day for schools. The move is aimed at ensuring that the academic calendar remains on track without affecting the planned instructional schedule.

The decision provides students with an extended break before the start of the new academic year, while also allowing schools and education authorities additional time to complete preparatory arrangements ahead of reopening.

Officials said the adjustment balances administrative convenience with the need to safeguard instructional days during the academic year.
