Telangana is set to conduct Census 2027 as the country’s first fully digital enumeration, with preparations reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Tuesday. District collectors discussed the roadmap, digital methodology, and field-level arrangements to ensure smooth operations.

The house-listing phase will begin on May 11 , preceded by a 15-day self-enumeration period, allowing citizens to submit their details online. The Chief Secretary emphasized that mobile data collection will ensure accuracy, transparency, and faster processing , while reducing the burden on field staff.

Collectors were directed to ensure complete geographical coverage , paying special attention to remote villages, tribal hamlets, hilly areas, and urban slums, particularly where vulnerable groups reside. Success will depend on field staff technical readiness, device preparedness , and strict adherence to timelines and data quality standards.

Census Operations Director H. Bharati presented the operational framework, detailing mobile app usage, backend monitoring, enumeration block finalization, boundary verification, and coordination with local bodies. Officials confirmed that the state aims to complete the census on time with uniform standards across all districts.

Earlier, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended a collectors’ conference on public administration and progress planning, joined by key ministers, government advisors, senior officials, and district collectors. Discussions focused on enhancing governance efficiency and accelerating developmental programs .
