Telangana is likely to see a significant reduction in rainfall from today, with most parts of the state expected to turn largely dry after several days of moderate to heavy showers, weather officials said.

The state has witnessed widespread rainfall over the past three to four days under the influence of a low-pressure system. However, the weather pattern is expected to shift in the coming days, with officials warning of drier conditions and rising temperatures.

Northern and eastern districts of Telangana may continue to receive light to moderate showers, but the rest of the state is likely to experience predominantly dry weather, with only occasional drizzle in some areas.

The dry spell is expected to persist through the first week of September and could continue beyond that period. Officials said temperatures are likely to climb over the next 10 days, bringing increased humidity and uncomfortable conditions across the state.

The rainfall deficit is also expected to widen. By the first week of September, Telangana's overall rainfall deficit could cross 20 per cent, while Hyderabad's deficit may exceed 25 per cent, according to the weather outlook.

Authorities have urged residents to prepare for the prolonged dry phase and make prudent use of available water resources. People have also been advised to conserve water and plan outdoor and other activities keeping the expected rise in temperatures and reduced rainfall in mind.

The evolving weather conditions are being closely watched as the state moves from the recent spell of widespread showers into a potentially warmer and drier phase. Officials have stressed the need for water conservation, particularly if the anticipated rainfall shortage persists into September.
