Telangana Records 97.26% Attendance in NEET-PG 2026

Telangana recorded a 97.26% attendance rate in the NEET-PG 2026 entrance examination, which was held peacefully across the state on Sunday.

The exam was conducted at 56 test centres, with 17,626 candidates registered to appear. Of them, 17,143 candidates took the examination, while 483 remained absent, according to information released by the office of Telangana Health Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha.

The minister monitored the arrangements from the Regional Command and Control Centre set up at the TCS office in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Officials said the examination was conducted smoothly across all centres without any major disruptions.

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) was held in a single nationwide shift from 9 am to 12.30 pm.

Across the country, 2,73,183 candidates appeared for the postgraduate medical entrance examination. In neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, around 18,700 candidates took the test at 76 examination centres across 21 districts.

The strong turnout in Telangana reflected the smooth conduct of the high-stakes examination, which is a key gateway for medical graduates seeking admission to postgraduate programmes across the country.
