In a major employee welfare initiative, the Telangana Government has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 16 leading banks to provide comprehensive insurance coverage for state government employees. Announcing the initiative at Ravindra Bharathi , Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the government is committed to ensuring financial security for employees and their families while building a stronger and more efficient public administration.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said employee welfare extends beyond timely salaries and includes providing a reliable social safety net. Referring to the ₹1-crore insurance cover already available to Singareni Collieries workers without any premium contribution, he said the government has decided to expand similar financial protection to employees across state departments.

Revanth Reddy said his government inherited a ₹8.11 lakh crore debt burden , but has restored fiscal discipline by ensuring salaries are credited on the first day of every month . He also noted that the increase in the retirement age to 61 years had significantly raised pension and retirement liabilities. Despite the financial pressure, the government has been releasing between ₹200 crore and ₹700 crore every month towards retirement benefits and has already released the first ₹1,000 crore out of its commitment to clear ₹6,000 crore in pending dues. He reiterated that the government would also honour its promise on the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) .

The Chief Minister credited government employees for successfully implementing flagship welfare programmes, including free electricity for 47 lakh families , ₹500 LPG cylinders for women , ration distribution and financial assistance to women's self-help groups. He also highlighted that nearly 70,000 government jobs have been filled since the present government assumed office.

Reiterating his long-term vision, Revanth Reddy said Telangana aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 through major infrastructure projects such as the Musi River Rejuvenation , Hyderabad Metro expansion , and the Regional Ring Road . He urged employees to play a greater role in improving governance, preventing tax evasion and contributing to the state's economic transformation.
