Telangana Shifts Rythu Bharosa Launch to Hyderabad Amid Heavy Rains
The Telangana government will launch the latest phase of its flagship Rythu Bharosa investment support scheme from Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad today after adverse weather conditions forced the cancellation of a planned farmers' gathering in Khammam district .
The programme was originally scheduled to be held as a large-scale "Rythu Ashirvada Sabha" in the Madhira Assembly constituency , where thousands of farmers were expected to participate. However, continuous rainfall across several parts of the state prompted the government to relocate the event to Hyderabad to ensure smooth conduct of the proceedings.
Acting on the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , officials made alternate arrangements at Shilpakala Vedika and expedited preparations for the statewide rollout of the scheme. The event, scheduled to begin at 4 pm , will connect farmers from different districts both physically and through virtual participation at designated Rythu Vedikas .
The launch marks the beginning of a major financial support initiative aimed at helping farmers meet cultivation expenses during the ongoing Kharif season . Under the scheme, eligible farmers will receive ₹6,000 per acre as investment assistance, with the funds being credited directly to their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
Government sources said nearly ₹9,000 crore has been earmarked for the current phase of disbursement. The administration has prepared a detailed implementation plan to ensure that payments reach all eligible beneficiaries across the state within the stipulated timeframe.
Officials indicated that the transfer process is expected to be completed by July 15 , enabling farmers to access funds during a crucial period for sowing and crop management. Timely financial assistance is expected to help cultivators purchase seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural inputs without relying heavily on private borrowing.
Agriculture remains a key pillar of Telangana's economy, and the government views Rythu Bharosa as a vital component of its broader strategy to strengthen rural livelihoods and support farm productivity. The scheme is expected to benefit lakhs of farmers across the state and provide a timely boost to agricultural activity as monsoon cultivation gathers pace.
With preparations complete and funds readied for release, the government hopes the programme will reinforce confidence among the farming community while ensuring that financial support reaches cultivators when it is needed most.
