As part of its efforts to ensure a reliable power supply during the rainy season, TGSPDCL continued its statewide “Poles and Lines Special Drive – Walk Along the Line” initiative, with senior officials carrying out on-site inspections of electricity infrastructure in Hyderabad.

The second day of the special drive was held in Anand Nagar Colony under the Khairatabad Circle , where TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil personally reviewed the condition of the local power distribution network.

During the inspection, Patil conducted a detailed assessment of electricity poles, overhead lines, distribution transformers, jumpers and service connections. The exercise was aimed at identifying vulnerabilities in the network before the peak monsoon period, when heavy rains and strong winds often lead to service disruptions.

Officials were instructed to address all identified deficiencies without delay, including damaged poles, line-clearance issues, pending maintenance works and other network-related defects that could affect power reliability or public safety.

Emphasising a consumer-first approach , the CMD directed field staff to remain accessible to consumers and ensure prompt resolution of complaints. He also stressed the importance of following established safety protocols, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) , approved line tools and other safety gear while carrying out maintenance activities.

With monsoon conditions expected to place additional strain on the distribution network, TGSPDCL has accelerated preventive maintenance across its LT and HT networks , feeders and distribution transformers. Officials have been asked to prioritise vegetation management, including the removal of tree branches that could come into contact with power lines, as well as undertake regular line-clearance operations.

The ongoing drive forms part of the utility's broader strategy to strengthen network resilience, reduce weather-related outages and deliver uninterrupted, quality power supply to consumers across its service areas during the monsoon season.
