The seven-month-long wait for Thalapathy Vijay fans has finally come to an end, with his much-anticipated farewell film, Jana Nayagan , receiving its CBFC censor certificate after months of delays and legal hurdles. The long-pending certification has now cleared the way for the makers to officially announce the film’s theatrical release date.

The film has been awarded an 'A' (Adults Only) certificate and has an approved runtime of 183 minutes (3 hours and 3 minutes) . The certification has surprised many, especially since the original Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari , on which Jana Nayagan is reportedly based, received a U/A certificate for its moderate action and violence.
