Three Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in Kerala for Alleged Illegal Entry, Forged IDs Seized

Three Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Kerala's Kozhikode district for allegedly entering India without valid travel documents and living at a labour camp while posing as interstate migrant workers, police said on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Muhammed Vula Hussain (47), Muhammed Hassan Ali (27), and Muhammad Mahdi Hasan (28) . They were detained during a surprise inspection conducted by the Mavoor Police at a private labour camp in Kalpally following a tip-off about suspected foreign nationals residing in the area.

According to police, the trio allegedly entered India without passports, visas, or any legal authorisation and concealed their Bangladeshi nationality by claiming to be migrant workers from another Indian state.

During the investigation, officers examined the suspects' mobile phones and reportedly recovered digital copies of Bangladeshi National Identity Cards , confirming their nationality. Police also seized forged identity cards and SIM cards , which are being examined to determine how they were obtained.

The three were initially questioned at the Mavoor Police Station before being shifted to the Kozhikode Special Branch office for further interrogation. A case has been registered under Section 3(1) read with Section 21 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act for allegedly entering and staying in India illegally.

Police are now investigating who employed the accused, whether anyone assisted them in obtaining forged identity documents, and if others facilitated their stay. Officials also said inspections across the Mavoor area will be intensified to identify any other foreign nationals residing in the district without valid documents.
