A tragic road accident in Dubai has claimed the lives of three migrant workers from Telangana's Jagtial district , casting a shadow of grief over their families and native villages. The victims had travelled to the United Arab Emirates in search of better employment opportunities and were among several workers involved in a deadly collision that occurred earlier this week.

The deceased have been identified as Syed Saleem from Namilikonda village in Kodimyal mandal, Abdul Rafeeq from Gajulapeta in Metpally, and Gollapalli Tirupati from Takkallapalli village in Malyala mandal. Their deaths have sparked an outpouring of condolences from public representatives and local communities in Telangana.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the state government would extend all possible assistance to the bereaved families. He immediately contacted the Chairman of the NRI Advisory Cell and directed officials to coordinate efforts for the swift repatriation of the victims' mortal remains to their native villages.

The accident took place on Monday when a workers' minibus carrying several passengers crashed into a truck that had reportedly stopped on the roadway. Preliminary findings from Dubai Police indicate that the collision was severe, leaving seven people dead at the scene and injuring nine others .

According to Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan , Director of the Dubai Traffic Police General Department, the minibus driver allegedly failed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and was not sufficiently attentive while driving. Investigators believe the vehicle lost control before slamming into the rear of the stationary truck.

Among the injured, five are reported to be in critical condition , while four sustained moderate injuries. They were rushed to nearby hospitals, where they continue to receive treatment. Local media reports in the Gulf region described the crash as one of the more serious worker-transport accidents reported in recent months.

The Embassy of India in Dubai also responded promptly, expressing condolences to the families of the deceased and confirming that consular officials had visited hospitals to assist injured Indian nationals. The embassy said it remains in close contact with local authorities to facilitate medical support, documentation procedures and the repatriation process.

The tragedy has once again drawn attention to the challenges faced by thousands of Indian migrant workers employed across the Gulf region. Telangana, like several other states, has a significant overseas workforce whose remittances support families back home. Incidents such as this highlight the importance of worker safety, emergency response mechanisms and continued support systems for expatriate communities.

As authorities in Dubai continue their investigation into the crash, families in Jagtial await the return of their loved ones, while the Telangana government works to ensure that the affected households receive the assistance they need during this difficult period.
