Tiger Shroff Firing Case: 22-Year-Old Woman Arrested as 13th Accused
The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a 22-year-old woman from Karnal, Haryana, in connection with the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. The woman, who is the 13th accused in the case, will be produced before a court on Tuesday, November 3, as the investigation into the October 18 shooting continues.
With the latest arrest, the total number of people apprehended in the case has reached 13. The development follows the arrest of the 12th accused, identified as Amar, from Sonipat, Haryana. He was brought to Mumbai on transit remand and produced before a special court hearing cases under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The court remanded Amar to police custody until November 6, after the prosecution sought 15 days of custody for further investigation. His lawyer, Ajinkya Mirgal, told ANI that the defence argued physical custody was unnecessary because the allegations involved financial transactions through QR codes, and the relevant information could be obtained directly from banking institutions. However, the court granted police custody until November 6.
Earlier, Mumbai Police confirmed that a Crime Branch team had detained another suspect in Sonipat with assistance from local police following specific investigative inputs.
Police have invoked provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, against all the accused. The case was initially registered on October 19 under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. The competent authority approved the invocation of MCOCA under Section 23(1)(a) on October 27. Subsequently, Sections 3(1)(ii), 3(2) and 3(4) of the Act were added.
The firing occurred around 7 pm on October 18 in Mumbai's Juhu area. Multiple rounds were fired at Shroff's car as he was leaving a football club after a session. While the actor escaped unharmed, his driver and a bystander sustained injuries.
The case was subsequently transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch, which is continuing its investigation into the shooting and the alleged network behind it.
