Tiger Shroff Firing Case: Three Arrested In Kota, Anil Pandit Issues Fresh Threats
Three suspects have been arrested in Rajasthan’s Kota in connection with the firing at Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai, as investigators probe an alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang link and fresh threats attributed to gangster Anil Pandit. The arrests came on Monday, October 19, a day after armed men opened fire at the Bollywood actor’s vehicle in Juhu.
The suspects, including a minor, were intercepted aboard the Pune-Jaipur Express at Kota railway station during a joint operation involving Mumbai and Rajasthan Police. According to reports, the accused had fled Mumbai after the shooting and were planning to escape to Nepal. Police sources said they had allegedly received Rs 50,000 in advance for carrying out the attack.
Investigators are examining the role of Anil Pandit, an alleged associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who is reportedly based in the United States. Police suspect he was in contact with one of the accused and helped coordinate the attack. The alleged connection remains under investigation.
The shooting occurred on Sunday evening as Shroff returned from a football ground in Juhu. Videos circulating online purportedly show three men arriving on a motorcycle, with two firing at the actor’s BMW while the third waited nearby. Reports said seven shots were fired.
Shroff escaped a direct bullet injury but suffered injuries to his left hand from gunpowder and glass fragments. His driver, Firdous, sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand, while autorickshaw driver Umesh Chavan was shot in the chest.
Following the incident, an audio message allegedly claiming responsibility on behalf of the Bishnoi gang circulated online. The speaker reportedly threatened members of the film industry associated with Salman Khan. On Monday, reports also highlighted fresh threats attributed to Pandit, including a claim that “200 brothers” were ready in Mumbai. A separate purported audio clip reportedly contained further threats against Khan. The authenticity and circumstances of these messages remain matters for investigators.
Pandit has also been linked in media reports to earlier shootings and alleged extortion operations, including the firing outside singer Guru Randhawa’s gym in Delhi.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff and warned that intimidation would not be tolerated. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed a thorough probe, while film industry associations demanded stronger security for celebrities and their families.
