Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff will miss Mumbai FC’s Durand Cup Group E match against Nongkseh SS&CC in Shillong on Tuesday due to a last-minute work commitment.

Shroff was included in Mumbai FC’s squad for the tournament but did not feature in either of the club’s opening two Group E matches. The team suffered identical 5-0 defeats against Meghalaya sides Langsning and Shillong Lajong, results that left Mumbai FC eliminated from the competition before their final group fixture.

The actor confirmed his absence in a video shared on Mumbai FC’s Instagram profile. He described the situation as “really, really unfortunate” and said he had been looking forward to travelling to Shillong and playing for his team.

Shroff also wished the squad well ahead of the match, praising the tournament and urging his teammates to give their best. His absence means he will not get an opportunity to make his Durand Cup appearance with Mumbai FC in Shillong.

The Bollywood star made his Mumbai FC debut in 2024 and has remained associated with the club since then. Mumbai FC was established in 2024 and currently competes in the Mumbai Premier League and I-League 3, the fourth tier of India’s domestic football structure.

The final Group E fixture against Nongkseh SS&CC will therefore be largely about ending Mumbai FC’s campaign on a positive note after their difficult start. Shroff’s decision to miss the match is linked solely to his professional work commitment, with the actor expressing his support for the team despite being unable to travel.
