'Toxic' Ticket Prices Hiked In Telangana, Revised Rates Approved For 10 Days
Toxic ticket prices have been increased in Telangana ahead of the Yash starrer’s worldwide release on August 26, with the state government approving revised rates for a 10 day period from August 26 to September 4, 2026.
According to the government order issued on August 25, theatres can charge an additional Rs. 50 in single screens and Rs. 100 in multiplexes and special theatres, with the revised amounts inclusive of GST. Following the hike, tickets can be priced at Rs. 227 in single screens and Rs. 395 in multiplexes during the permitted period.
The order also allows theatres to screen five regular shows per day. The revised ticket rates are expected to apply across the approved exhibition period, with bookings for the highly anticipated film expected to open shortly.
As part of the approval, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP have been directed to contribute Rs. 1 crore to the Telugu Film Industry Employees’ Welfare Committee Account. The contribution is intended to support the welfare of workers associated with the Telugu film industry.
The Telangana government has also instructed theatres screening Toxic to run advertisements highlighting the harmful effects of narcotics, drugs and cybercrime.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead role and features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles. The film is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26, 2026.
The ticket price hike comes as anticipation builds around Yash’s first major release after the blockbuster KGF franchise. Toxic is expected to see strong demand in its opening days, particularly with the film arriving in multiple languages and with a major pan India release.
With the government approval covering the first 10 days, Telangana audiences will have to pay the revised rates until September 4, after which ticket pricing is expected to return to the applicable regular rates unless further permissions are issued.
