
Tribal Students Poised for Success in Every Arena, Says Minister
Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Minister Gummidi Sandhya Rani has called on tribal students to overcome fear , build confidence , and pursue ambitious careers in the country's top civil services, including the IAS and IPS .
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony held in Vijayawada , the minister honoured high-performing students and teachers who delivered outstanding results in the March 2026 examinations. She said the state government is prioritising education in tribal communities by strengthening academic opportunities, residential facilities, and student support systems.
Congratulating Class 10 achievers Parthu and Jasmine for their exceptional scores, Sandhya Rani described them as an inspiration for young learners across tribal regions. She encouraged students to focus on academics and sports , while staying away from harmful influences such as drug abuse and betting.
Highlighting the government's broader development agenda, the minister said efforts are underway to improve infrastructure and livelihood opportunities in tribal areas. She pointed to initiatives promoting coffee cultivation , support for farmers, and measures aimed at curbing illegal activities that affect local communities.
The minister also praised students from a Palnadu district ashram school who designed an innovative shoe prototype capable of detecting snakes, earning recognition at the state level. The achievement, she said, reflected the growing spirit of innovation among tribal students.
Officials at the event highlighted encouraging trends in tribal education, noting improved academic performance, increased participation in competitive examinations, and continued investment in educational institutions. They expressed confidence that more tribal students would secure places in premier institutions such as the IITs and emerge as future leaders.
As part of World Environment Day , the minister planted a sapling under the "One Plant in Mother's Name" campaign before presenting awards to outstanding students and teachers. The programme was attended by senior officials, educators, parents, and students from across the state.
