US President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video of himself wrestling and playing with a tiger hours after posting footage of a man being fatally mauled at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in England. The contrasting posts drew attention as the victim’s family urged people to stop circulating footage of his death.

The 23-second clip, posted late Tuesday, shows Trump chasing a tiger, wrestling with it and embracing the animal to the tune of The Tokens’ 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'. The fabricated video appears to mirror elements of the real attack but gives Trump a different outcome.

Trump had earlier shared the fatal attack footage with the caption, “Don’t ever mess with nature! President DJT.” He later posted a compilation of animal attacks, including a clip appearing to show a lion breaking through enclosure glass to attack a zookeeper. Some footage appeared to be AI-generated.

The incident occurred on October 10 at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster. William Chapman, a man in his early 20s, entered an enclosure and was fatally attacked by an Amur tiger named Altai. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports said Chapman recorded himself approaching the tiger as it rested on a raised wooden platform. Witness videos captured visitors reacting with alarm and reportedly showed the tiger biting Chapman and grabbing the back of his shirt. Park workers fired two warning shots, prompting Altai to retreat to its pen, while staff and emergency responders tried to help Chapman. The park confirmed the tiger would not be euthanised.

Chapman’s family said they were devastated and distressed by the footage’s circulation. They said he had experienced “significant mental illness” for several years and had been prescribed “strong medication”. His parents hoped authorities would investigate his actions. South Yorkshire Police also urged people not to share the “distressing footage”.

The video adds to Trump’s history of sharing AI-generated content on Truth Social. In April, he posted an image portraying himself as Jesus Christ, attracting criticism, including from prominent Republicans, amid a dispute with Pope Leo XIV. Trump later deleted it.

In July, he shared AI-generated posts depicting threats against Iran and its Kharg Island oil terminals, an image of himself with former president John F Kennedy, and a clip showing him rescuing George Washington.

He also posted a 90-second video portraying himself as a doctor diagnosing “Trump Derangement Syndrome” among celebrity critics, including Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, Edward Norton and John Leguizamo. His latest video has renewed attention on his use of artificial intelligence to portray himself in fictional scenarios following a fatal incident.
