TTD Refutes Rumours of Ghee Shortage in Srivari Laddu Preparation

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has clarified that it has ample stocks of cow ghee required for preparing the sacred Tirupati Laddu offered to devotees of Lord Venkateswara. In an official statement, the temple body refuted recent claims circulating on social media suggesting that a shortage of ghee had disrupted laddu production and distribution.

TTD authorities said such reports are completely unfounded and urged people to refrain from spreading misinformation that could hurt the sentiments of devotees visiting the hill shrine.

Officials explained that the procurement of ghee for laddu preparation is carried out through a well-structured three-tier sourcing system . Rather than depending on a single supplier, TTD procures ghee from three reputed dairy companies , ensuring a steady supply at all times. This system allows the temple administration to continue production smoothly even if one supplier temporarily faces logistical or technical issues.

Addressing recent developments, officials confirmed that a ghee tanker belonging to Indapur Dairy was involved in an accident near Kondapur in Kadapa district . However, they emphasized that the incident has no impact on laddu preparation , as supplies from the other two companies are continuing without interruption.

The temple body also noted that around seven lakh laddus are currently maintained as buffer stock , ensuring that the needs of devotees are met without any disruption in distribution.

With summer holidays approaching and a rise in pilgrim footfall expected , TTD has already strengthened its arrangements. In the temple’s Potu (kitchen) department , machinery, conveyor belts and other equipment used in laddu preparation are undergoing regular maintenance to ensure seamless operations.

Reiterating its commitment, TTD stated that temple rituals and prasadam preparation are continuing normally . Devotees have been advised not to believe unverified information on social media, while the administration reaffirmed that delivering high-quality prasadam without compromise remains its foremost priority .
