Twisha Sharma Case: Custody Of Husband And Mother-In-Law Extended Till June 30
A court in Bhopal has extended the judicial custody till June 30 of late model Twisha Sharma ’s husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh , as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its probe into the alleged dowry death and examines newly received forensic evidence, including the second autopsy report from AIIMS Delhi .
The extension was granted after the CBI informed the court that the investigation is still ongoing, with several witness statements pending and further interrogation likely.
According to updated investigation details, the CBI has now received the second autopsy report in sealed cover , which is expected to provide crucial clarity on the cause and circumstances of death. The agency is also analysing digital and electronic evidence review , including call records and communication data.
Investigators have already conducted crime scene reconstruction using an 80-kg dummy experiment , testing whether the accused’s version of events was physically possible. The probe also includes 3D mapping of the residence and forensic re-examination of material evidence.
Twisha Sharma , 33, was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12. Her family alleged sustained dowry harassment allegations , mental cruelty, and domestic abuse. The FIR was registered on May 15 after initial police statements.
The first post-mortem report cited antemortem hanging by ligature marks and minor injuries. However, concerns raised by the family led to a second autopsy by AIIMS Delhi doctors, ordered by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The CBI has also examined a key last phone call evidence , during which Twisha reportedly spoke to her mother before the line was abruptly disconnected, followed by alarming statements from her in-laws.
The investigation remains open, with custodial questioning and forensic analysis still underway.
