Two IndiGo Flights Diverted To Hyderabad After Bad Weather Disrupts Visakhapatnam Landings
Two passenger flights scheduled to land in Visakhapatnam were diverted to Hyderabad late Saturday night after adverse weather conditions prevented them from landing at their destination.
According to airport officials, the flights were rerouted to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad after pilots were unable to safely land in Visakhapatnam due to unfavourable weather conditions prevailing in the coastal city.
The affected services included IndiGo flight 6E 5248 operating from Navi Mumbai to Visakhapatnam and IndiGo flight 6E 969 from Bengaluru to Visakhapatnam.
Officials said both aircraft arrived in Hyderabad during the late-night hours between Saturday and Sunday. The flights remained there until weather conditions in Visakhapatnam improved.
Following the restoration of favourable conditions, the two flights resumed their journeys and departed Hyderabad for Visakhapatnam. Airport authorities said the Navi Mumbai flight took off at 11:41 pm , while the Bengaluru service departed at 12:16 am .
Both flights later proceeded safely to their intended destination, officials added.
