Two police officers found dead in Punjab, investigation underway

In a shocking incident on Sunday, two policemen were found dead with bullet injuries in Adian village of Gurdaspur district , police officials confirmed.

The deceased have been identified as Gurnam Singh , an Assistant Sub Inspector and Station House Officer of Dorangla police station, and Ashok Kumar , a home guard personnel.

Addressing media queries, Banarsi Dass , a senior police official, said that while there are reports suggesting a possible dispute between the two officers, investigations are still underway. "At this stage, the exact circumstances leading to their deaths are being examined," he added.

Authorities have appealed for calm in the area while the probe continues, emphasizing that no conclusions have been drawn yet regarding the cause of the incident.
