Marking 12 years of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi , Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday launched the ‘Swachh School’ (Mana Badi – Mana Badhyatha) initiative in Rajanna Sircilla district, focusing on promoting clean and hygienic learning environments in government schools.

The programme was held at the Kusuma Ramayya Zilla Parishad High School in the district headquarters, where the minister actively participated in cleaning classrooms and the school premises. He personally engaged in clearing classrooms and organising the campus ahead of the reopening of schools after the summer vacation .

Speaking on the occasion, Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that community participation is essential in building a responsible and clean society. He emphasised that cleanliness should not be seen as a one-time activity but as a shared social responsibility involving citizens, organisations, and public representatives.

He added that ensuring a clean school environment is especially important as students return after the holidays, as it directly contributes to better learning conditions and overall discipline within educational institutions.

The event witnessed participation from BJP workers, local residents, non-governmental organisations, and members of school education committees , who jointly took part in cleaning classrooms, corridors, and other parts of the school campus. The collective effort turned the programme into a large-scale community cleanliness drive .

The initiative highlighted the importance of linking education with cleanliness and civic responsibility , aiming to instil values of hygiene and public service among students and citizens alike. Organisers said the campaign is part of a broader effort to strengthen grassroots engagement in maintaining public infrastructure.

The programme concluded with a renewed call for sustained efforts to keep schools clean throughout the academic year and encourage active citizen involvement in similar initiatives.
