"US Open" 2026: Tokito Oda, Yui Kamiji Headline Wheelchair Tennis Draws as Top Seeds

Japan's Tokito Oda and Yui Kamiji have been named the top seeds for the men's and women's singles events, respectively, in the 2026 US Open wheelchair tennis tournaments, while Niels Vink of the Netherlands leads the quad singles field.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced the 16-player singles draws for the men's, women's and quad divisions on Monday, along with eight-team doubles competitions.

World No. 1 Tokito Oda, 20, enters the season's final Grand Slam aiming to complete a calendar-year Grand Slam after winning the year's first three major wheelchair singles titles. Oda claimed his maiden Grand Slam crown at the US Open last year and has continued his remarkable rise by dominating the 2026 season. Britain's Alfie Hewett, a 10-time Grand Slam champion, has been seeded second in the men's singles draw.

In the women's event, Yui Kamiji arrives in New York on the back of a historic triumph at Wimbledon, where she defeated Diede de Groot to complete a career Grand Slam, becoming the first Japanese woman to achieve the milestone in wheelchair tennis. De Groot, the No. 2 seed, will be bidding to capture her seventh US Open wheelchair singles title.

Meanwhile, Niels Vink has been named the top seed in the quad singles competition and will also be chasing a calendar-year Grand Slam, having already secured the first three major titles of the season.

The 2026 US Open wheelchair events promise a star-studded field, with several of the sport's biggest names set to compete for Grand Slam glory in singles and doubles competitions.
