
Vanshika Chaudhary, Shiva Narwal Win 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Silver At Jr World C'ship
India's Vanshika Chaudhary and Shiva Narwal secured the silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the ISSF Junior World Championship , continuing the country's strong showing at the prestigious competition.
The Indian duo delivered a composed performance in the gold medal match, shooting 469.7 points . However, they finished behind Poland's Malgorzata Dabrowska and Ivan Rakitski , who claimed the title with 471.9 points , edging the Indians by just 2.2 points.
Earlier, Vanshika and Shiva had qualified for the medal round after finishing third in the qualification stage with 577-15x . Another Indian pair, Sanskriti Bana and Sandeep Bishnoi , finished 11th with 570-15x and missed out on a place in the medal matches.
The bronze medal was won by Chinese Taipei's Cheng Yen-Ching and Hsieh Hsiang-Chen , who scored 410.0 points after advancing to the podium round.
The silver medal further underlined Shiva Narwal's impressive campaign in Suhl. The youngster had also won silver in the men's 10m air pistol event , making it his second medal of the championship.
With the latest podium finish, India continued to lead the medal standings at the Junior World Championship. The country's tally rose to 16 medals , including five gold, four silver and seven bronze medals , reflecting a dominant performance across disciplines.
More than 800 shooters from 70 federations are competing in the fifth edition of the championship, with India fielding an 84-member contingent . The tournament is scheduled to conclude on June 26 .
