Varun Tej Confirms First Ever On Screen Collaboration With Father Naga Babu in ‘Bhari’
Varun Tej is gearing up to entertain audiences with his much awaited horror comedy Korean Kanakaraju, which is holding paid premiere shows today ahead of its grand theatrical release on August 7. The film has built solid buzz with its quirky concept, catchy promotions and entertaining trailer, and the makers are banking on positive word of mouth from the premiere audience.
During the film's promotions, Varun gave fans another reason to celebrate by revealing a major update about his next project, Bhari. Interacting with NRI audiences, the actor officially confirmed that he will be sharing screen space with his father, Naga Babu Konidela, for the very first time. The announcement instantly excited Mega fans, who have long wanted to see the father son duo together in a full fledged film.
The project becomes even more special because it is a complete family affair. Bhari is being produced by Varun's sister Niharika Konidela under the Pink Elephant Pictures banner, bringing three members of the Konidela family together in one film. While Varun plays the lead role, Naga Babu has been cast in a key character, making the sports drama one of the most anticipated Telugu projects in development.
Directed by Yadhu Vamshi, who won the National Award for Committee Kurrollu, Bhari features Varun Tej as a volleyball player in what is expected to be an emotional sports drama. The film's music is composed by Anudeep Dev, while shooting is progressing at a steady pace.
Meanwhile, all eyes remain on Korean Kanakaraju, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. The horror comedy stars Ritika Nayak as the female lead, with comedian Satya playing a pivotal role. The film follows Kanakaraju, a man from Rayalaseema whose life takes a bizarre turn after he is possessed by a mysterious Korean spirit, blending supernatural thrills with comedy. Portions of the film were also shot in South Korea to add authenticity to its unique backdrop.
Adding to the excitement, the trailer was unveiled by Ram Charan, while Varun recently admitted that matching the blockbuster streak of Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan may not be easy. However, he confidently promised fans that he has given his best and believes Korean Kanakaraju will thoroughly entertain audiences. With one film arriving in theatres and another bringing together the Konidela family on screen for the first time, Varun Tej seems to have an exciting phase ahead.
