Vasuki India, a SEBI Category III Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), has secured a ₹100 crore investment from a single Non-Resident Indian (NRI) investor under its second investment scheme, Vasuki XVI, reinforcing investor confidence in the fund's research-driven investment philosophy.

The latest capital infusion comes as the fund approaches the end of its drawdown period and prepares to raise an additional around ₹200 crore over the next few months. The fundraising window has now been extended until December 2026, providing the fund with greater flexibility to onboard new investors.

According to the company, Vasuki XVI focuses on Indian listed equities along with select private equity opportunities, following a strategy aimed at long-term capital preservation while generating attractive risk-adjusted returns. Since its launch in June 2024, the scheme has outperformed the NIFTY 50 by approximately 4.5 percentage points.

The firm's flagship offering, Vasuki India Fund, which began operations in October 2021, has also reported an outperformance of 5.7 percentage points since inception, reflecting the firm's emphasis on disciplined investment processes and sector-focused research.

Founder Vikas Sehgal, who has nearly 30 years of experience in financial services and investment banking, said the platform benefits from a network of entrepreneurs, corporate executives, industry specialists and business leaders who contribute to investment evaluation and portfolio construction alongside providing strategic insights.

The investment team has also been strengthened with the appointment of Ravindra Bhandari as Fund Manager. Bringing more than 15 years of experience across equity research, portfolio management, capital markets and investment banking, Bhandari is expected to support the firm's next phase of growth.

Beyond domestic investments, Vasuki India also offers exposure to global innovation through the Luxembourg-based Vasuki Tech Fund, which invests in early-stage technology ventures spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, mobility, sustainability and climate technology, broadening opportunities for investors seeking diversified long-term growth.
