Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are set to launch the first round of merit scholarships for 180 top-performing school students from classes 9 and 10 across 44 government schools in Achampet Mandal, Telangana , on Sunday at Thummanpet , according to ANI.

The initiative will recognise first and second rank holders from each school as part of a community-driven education support programme aimed at encouraging academic excellence among rural government school students .

Sharing the list of selected students on his X handle, Vijay Deverakonda said the initiative is closely connected to his personal roots. He wrote that the programme is being launched in Thummanpet , the village where his father was born, calling it a long-held dream shared with Rashmika Mandanna .

In his post, he stated: “We are on our way to Thummanpet, the little village where my father was born. In February, Rashmika and I had announced the beginning of a little dream of ours — to reward all the hardworking students of 9th and 10th grade from Achampet Mandal of Telangana. Here is a list of the 180 kids who made their parents proud.”

The scholarships are being implemented through Vijay Deverakonda’s foundation as part of a pledge made after the couple announced the initiative earlier this year. The programme aims to provide recognition and support to meritorious students from government schools in the region.

The couple got married on February 26 in Udaipur , in the presence of close friends and family members. They later hosted a grand wedding reception , attended by several prominent personalities from the film industry and political circles.

On the work front, Vijay Deverakonda will next be seen in the film “Ranabaali” , directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Y. Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni under Mythri Movie Makers in association with T-Series .

The film also features Rashmika Mandanna and international actor Arnold Vosloo in key roles. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 11, 2026 .
